1829 – Born in McMinnville, Tn
1850 – Lived in Wayne County, Missouri
1852 – Married Matilda Adeline Meador (1836-1872) on 22 July.
1858 – Death of his mother, Rachel Risenhoover (sp?)
1859 – Birth of his daughter, Delana Catherine Atnip
1864 – Birth of his daughter, India Amy Everlyn “Ever” Atnip
1864 – Enlisted as a Union Soldier, August 6th at Patterson, Missouri. Described on Civil War records as 5’7′, dark complexion, black hair. Served as a private in Co A of the 47th Regiment of the Missouri Infantry. After the war, he was given to coughs and colds.
1865 – Discharged from the military on March 28th and returned to farming.
1867 – Birth of his son, John Robert Atnip, on 5 August
1867 – Died on 26 November of Typhoid Fever and Pneumonia. Buried in Job Meador Cemetary, Patterson, Missouri.
Cemetery notes: Take gravel Co. Rd. #313 off Highway 34 near Patterson to gravel #380, go east for 2 miles to the Old Hog Eye road toward the St. Francois River. 200 yards off the road on a hill. Must enter a gate. Need a 4×4 to drive up the hill or you must walk.

I have most of the info on Bethaven, dad’s grandfather and his family. I remember how excited I was to learn so much about him and it’s still exciting. I remember how dad continued to correct my pronounceation of Bethaven. and I still can’t remember how he pronounced it. I think he started the name with Bet, while I started it with Beth.
