August 2018 – Ward & Peggy Atnip Milliot are proud to announce their granddaughter, Senior Airman  (SRA) Michelle N. Milliot, has just been selected for the promotion to Staff Sergeant. Promotion to Staff Sergeant is not automatic.  In the Air Force, selections for promotions at these ranks are made using a weighted airman promotion system or WAPS.

 

  • Promotion Fitness Examination (PFE) 
    This is a 100 question test about Air Force general supervisory subjects, such as history, leadership, NCO responsibilities, first aid, customs and courtesies, etc. The questions are derived from the Air Force Promotion Fitness (PFE) Manual.
  • Specialty Knowledge Test (SKT) 
    This is a 100 question test about the individual’s job in the Air Force.
  • Time-in-Grade (TIG) 
    Air Force members are awarded one-half of a point for each month they have time-in-grade.
  • Awards and Decorations 
    Air Force members receive promotion points if awarded certain military decorations (medals)

 

Michelle recently graduated from the Air Mobility Command Command Airmen Leadership School where she is stationed at Scott Air Force Base, ILL.  She expects to put on her new stripes this Jan. 2019.  Her family is so proud of her hard work, dedication and her steady progression of advancement in the U.S. Air Force in defense of our country.
